Like other Simpsons fans I am saddened by the death of Marcia Wallace. Her Emmy winning, iconic voice cannot be replaced.
So it seems that we will also lose Edna Krabappel, behind Marge Simpson, probably the most popular female character. I hope TPTB will allow her to leave voluntarily, perhaps to "find herself", and not have her die.
Story lines surrounding the school are very important. Unlike Lionel Hutz and Troy McClure, Edna's character will have to be replaced. Perhaps it may be Dick Testiclees, but I would prefer a woman character.
